Gravestones, headstones, plaques and memorials

Perhaps the area of our work that is most commonly associated with the phrase "stonemasonry", MTA Stone is able to produce gravestones, headstones, plaques and memorials from a range of materials and to very high specifications.

Our plant enables us to take a digital image of the required carving and produce it in stone very efficiently and accurately.

We can both ‘V’ cut and sandblast letters. Sandblasted letters are flat bottom and not smooth, Large letters can be cut in both positive and negative relief for example we have cut the background away to raise the letter proud to the face.

Base relief carving can also be undertaken simply and accurately, as black and white JPEGS can be copied and carved, often the best results are got by letting the machines do the hard work and then using the skills of the mason to hand finish.
